On Alien: Earth
The Disney+ show that captures Alien franchise atmosphere but also asks relevant questions related to our relationship with AI, technology and the Big Tech.
I have felt a void after finishing The Last Of Us, that show was great - good story, great performance, captivating theme - so, when I have seen that there will be an Alien TV series, you know I got excited.
Weyland - Yutani is not alone here, they have competition, such as good call out to the current Big Tech. The way how the motives of the companies and their inner workings gets unraveled here is a bliss.
I like how there is also full blown Alien-franchise movie inside this TV series (S1E5 In Space, No One...), just a great throw back. It is also nice to see some new creatures being introduced, providing a different spin on the familiar Xenomorph story.
There is one big thing that I really want to mention, Maggie Phillips is doing a phenomenal job by picking up the songs played during the show (TV on the Radio, Tool, The Smashing Pumpkins, Queens of the Stone Age,...). This makes the show even more captivating and is an added bonus.
I am looking forward to every Wednesday night, when I can watch another episode, while the whole house is sleeping.
