On Superman (2025)
I know, I know, I am super late to the party, but as a parent of 2 small children and very limited selection of cinemas around, it is not so easy to catch theatrical releases of the movies. That’s why I am left with streaming things. Again, as a parent, I am also left with streaming things in parts at night. Fortunately with Apple TV 4k I can at least enjoy the sound rather than watching things at 2% volume.
This movie is such a blast. I am glad we do not have to go through another destruction of Krypton. James Gunn was the right choice and finally DC movies are not “serious” (or fake art movie… * cough * Snyder cut * cough *). The latest live action Batman movie already alluded that things are changing for DC as they’ve let Robert Pattinson fly directly into a overpass - thing that would not be imaginable few years ago.
The light tone really does the trick and cements Superman in the actual superhero movie genre, rather than trying to be next Nolan’s take on established franchise.
If you have not yet seen Superman, I highly recommend it. It is streaming now on HBO… Max… HBO Max.
